Ippolita is a unique apartment located on the second floor, or “piano nobile,” of a landmarked Florentine palazzo set in an outstanding location inside the historical city center. The apartment, meticulously maintained with every detail restored to perfection, faces the famous Cappelle Medicee, which dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries. When you step outside the door, you find yourself strolling in the city’s oldest neighborhood, and the Santa Maria Novella Rail station is only 5 minutes away by foot. The location is within walking distance to shopping, world famous museums and galleries, and the city’s finest outdoor monuments, besides plenty of restaurants and cafés with ample sidewalk seating perfect for soaking up the atmosphere. The history and integrity of this historic home remain intact, enhanced by modern amenities.

Florence is a beautiful city – full of history, culture, wonderful architecture and great food. It is a city surrounded by lovely countryside and equally lovely towns such as Siena, Pisa and San Gimignano. We have enjoyed both the towns and the countryside, but it has all been made so much more enjoyable by the hospitality shown to us by the owners. On top of all of this, Ippolita is an immaculate apartment – beautiful furnished in traditional style with the added bonus of a modern kitchen and bathrooms. We will remember Ippolita for very long time.

Any place you love becomes the world to you. I have traveled to wonderful cities and stayed in lovely places. None quite rival this. I will miss staying in a place. It’s like the fatal mistake of flying first class once. I can’t go back now. I am afraid we have no choice now. We must return. The hospitality of the owner was the icing on the cake.

…This home is beyond amazing and we are so fortunate to be able to call it our home this past week. The owner spoiled us as we can’t imagine coming to Florence and staying anywhere else. This has been our most treasured trip.

Apartment Ippolita in Florence was superb. Highly recommend it. Very nice people. The owner actually walked us around to show us the location of things and when we left he walked us to the train station and helped carry our bags. The apartment was huge and better equipped than any of the others we have stayed in. Washer/dryer and kitchen were perfect. The frescoes and furnishings were terrific. They also had a cleaning lady coming daily including in the rate. Location was very convenient too.

Fabulous, Fantastic, Incredible. These are the words I use to describe our recent visit to Florence, our third trip but definitely not our last. For years my wife has dreamed of “living” in Florence. So this year we did it. We found an unbelievable villa in downtown Florence, in one of the oldest Piazzas in the city. I’m attaching the brochure for review. You really can’t call this a villa, it’s more of a luxury apartment. 3000 square feet of luxury, with every amenity that one could ask for. This villa was built in the 1400’s, before the US was even discovered. It was re-done in the 1700’s and purchased by the current owner’s family in the 1980’s. It’s pretty incredible to lay in bed at night and look up at beautiful ceilings painted in the mid 1700’s. The apartment is impeccably maintained, reasonable to rent, and comes with all manner of extras. The extras start with the owner, who doubles as your host and 24/7 concierge. He is one of the nicest, most accomplished hosts that we have ever had the pleasure to know. This was, without a doubt, the trip of a lifetime.

Florence is truly spectacular. But it is people like Ippolita’s owners that make it special. Their pride of Florence and their hospitality is a treat. The sights and sounds we carry in our minds, the special people we carry in our hearts forever. We look forward to visiting again … and next time we know where we will stay!

Florence, a medieval city of timeless artistic beauty is there to be discovered. The beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, the Pitti Palace, and Ponte Vecchio are only few of the city’s most famous architectural masterpieces. Check at least one of its museums – we like the Academy of Fine Arts, which houses Michelangelo’s superb David. Stroll the narrow streets of Florence, the cradle of the Reinassance, and marvel at the richness of this real open museum. Enjoy a cappuccino on one of its piazzas, or a colorful gelato to cool off the summer heat. Whatever you do, don’t pinch yourself…you are not dreaming!
